Canada 1967 Five-Cent Coin (ROTATED DIE 15) This is a 1967 Canada Five-Cent (ROTATED DIE 15). It features a special running hare (rabbit) design by legendary Canadian artist Alex Colville, created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Canadian Confederation (1867–1967). Meaning of ROTATED DIE 15 A "Rotated Die 15" is a specific type of mechanical mint error highly sought after by coin collectors. When a coin is manufactured, it is stamped between two steel dies (one for the front and one for the back) inside a high-speed press. Normally, these two dies are perfectly aligned so that the top of the Queen’s head on the front matches up exactly with the top of the coin on the back. The Error: During production, one of the dies can accidentally come loose in its holder and twist out of alignment. The Result: If you hold this coin upright and flip it over horizontally like a page in a book, the reverse image (the rabbit) will appear tilted or crooked by 15 degrees instead of sitting perfectly straight. All information provided herein is considered accurate. It is the buyer's responsibility to verify its accurateness. As shown and as is. The pictures are part of the description.
