Canada 2005 Five-Cent Coin (“P & Victory”) This is a 2005 Canada Five-Cent (“P & Victory”) coin. Meaning of "Victory" The design elements on the reverse side of this coin are highly symbolic of the global war effort: The Large "V": Serves a dual purpose. It represents Winston Churchill's famous "V for Victory" hand sign and also stands as the Roman numeral 5, indicating the coin's 5-cent face value. The Burning Torch: Positioned inside the V, the flaming torch is an emblem of the sacrifice made by soldiers and citizens to achieve peace. The Morse Code Rim: Just like the original 1940s coins, the inner rim features a message hidden in international Morse code.
