This piece captures the essence of the Canadian Shield with its rocky islands and windswept trees, characteristic of the Georgian Bay landscape. Franklin Carmichael (1890 – 1945) was a member of the Group of Seven.  The Group of Seven was a group of Canadian landscape painters from 1920 to 1933 who created the first major Canadian national art movement.

This is a giclee print of The Canoe (1912) by Tom Thomson.  Tom Thomson (1877 - 1917) is considered one of the most important and infuential Canadian artists.  He painted from an intense inner necessity and a love of the Ontario north.  He was close to members of the Group of Seven and had a profound influence on their work, however Tom Thomson died before the group’s official 1920 formation.

Vintage player piano rolls from the early 20th Century.  63 rolls in total - see photos for song titles (lots of fox trots).  Player piano rolls were used in mechanical player pianos to automatically play popular songs of that era.  The Word Roll designation indicates they included lyrics printed directly on the paper for sing-alongs.   Mostly QRS brand.  Note: the rolls are untested.  The piano rolls look like they are made of heavy butcher-like paper and seem to be intact - see photo examples.  Many of the individual storage boxes are in fragile condition due to age, but it varies .
