• The name translates to &#34;red cow&#34; in the
local dialect, and is made with papier-
mâché in the representation of a
bobblehead cow.
• Akabeko toys are considered a symbol
of good fortune and health, believed to
ward off off smallpox and other
illnesses.
• This particular figurine is a variation
called a Kin no Beko (0), or
&#34;Golden Cow,&#34; which is a traditional folk
mascot from Iwate Prefecture, Japan.
