Lot #4: ARTIST Charles B. Greul (born in 1923} BLACK INK SILK SCREENED IMAGE ON RICE PAPER

Charles b. Greul was a Canadian printmaker and produced images styled after the Northwest Coast First Nations He was known for his series of black ink silk screened images on rice paper during the 1950s and 60s. Although he was not an Indigneous person himself, he mastered the style used by   First Nations   artists from British Columbia in the Pacific Northwest. The paper has darkened in areas due to perhaps sun exposer of the rice paper. These conditions are not uncommon to these 55-65 year old prints.
