Gerry Sevier was born in 1934 in Hamilton, Ontario. From 1952 to 1956, he attended the Ontario College of Art and was an honors graduate with a medal. Throughout his career as a fine artist, Gerry’s inspiration has been nature. He strives to capture its patterns, its light and its shadows.

Gerry was an illustrator for 45 years, winning many awards from Art Director shows in Toronto and New York. In 2001, he received a lifetime achievement award for illustration from CAPIC (Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Communication). In 2010, the Ontario Society of Artists presented him with the Eleanor Bessen award for his outstanding contribution to the society.

From 1965 to 1995, Gerry taught design and illustration at the Ontario College of Art. In addition, he has had a vibrant career as a painter. Since 1961, he has had numerous solo exhibitions and has participated in many group shows. In 2000, his work was exhibited in the OSA show in Japan and in the RCA show “Arts 2000” in Stratford, Ontario. In 2014, he received honorable mention in the Arabella Landscape Canadian Contest.

Gerry’s paintings are in many private and corporate collections. Two of his paintings are in the Ontario Government’s Art Collection.

Gerry is a life member of the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto. In addition, he is a member of Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and a life member and past-president of the Ontario Society of Artists.

Bobs Cogill Haworth Biography
(1904 - 1988) Canadian Group of Painters, OSA, RCA
Born in Queenstown, South Africa, she studied at the Royal College of Art, London, England, under Professor Rothenstein, Professor Tristram, and Dora M. Billington and received her degree of A.R.C.A. from the University of London. She came to Canada in 1923 and settled in Toronto. The public became aware of her participation in exhibitions of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (she was past President); Canadian Group of Painters (member); Royal Canadian Academy (A.R.C.A. 1948); Ontario Society of Artists (member), and she became Honorary President of the Canadian Guild of Potters. She illustrated with her husband the book ‘Kingdom of the Saguenay’ (1936) by Marius Barbeau and also illustrated ‘Habitant Merchant’.

During the Second World War she went with her husband to the coast of British Columbia to make a record of the activities of the Canadian Armed Forces, which assignment they completed with great success. An exhibition of their work was held at the Vancouver Art Gallery when the Vancouver ‘Province’ noted her paintings as follows, “B. Cogill Haworth’s numerous studies are all very spirited. Her penchant for variety of character – full detail embodied in good composition, is revealed with special force in a watercolour of airplanes entitled ‘Canso.’ Also during this period she contributed her designs fro the silk screen prints under the direction of the National Gallery of Canada for distribution fo Canadian servicemen’s quarters at home and abroad also in schools. Her painting “Port au Persil” was chosen for <span class"bg-warning nswreasons" id"rid-112">reproduction</span>. Its marine subject matter is typical of the type of scenes Haworth loved to paint.

Further evidence of this can be seen in her “Percé Rock and Driftwood” (reproduced in Paul Duval’s ‘Canadian Water Colour Painting’ published in 1954) which depicts bobbing boats in a choppy sea and Percé Rock off to one side and in the foreground the rolling surf pounding on the driftwood strewn beach. Her canvas “Beach Impressions” was reproduced in the April Issue of the Toronto ‘Saturday Night’, (1949) with the caption. “… The artist is noted for her richly coloured comments on people.” B. Cogill Haworth also created murals and illuminated manuscripts. Her later paintings have been more design conscious or abstract. She gave lectures on ceramics to public institutions and taught this subject at the Toronto Central Technical School and also lectured at the University of Toronto. Her work is in the collections of the following: National Gallery of Canada, the National Gallery of South Africa, the Art Gallery of Ontario and others. She lived in Toronto.

Born in Inukjuak, Quebec, Qumaluk and her husband, Josie Qumaluk, moved to Puvirnituq in 1954. She began her career as a carver before experimenting with stoneblock printing in 1960. She would go on to author at least ninety-five prints during her career, printing most of them herself as well; most of these were stonecuts. She also printed hundreds of editions for other artists, holding a regular job in a print shop to make the output possible. Early prints were dominated by mythological themes or demons conjured up by her own imagination; these were later replaced with quieter subjects such as animals or depictions of traditional life. By the late 1970s, her output had diminished, and in 1985 she retired. Her style is different from that of other Puvirnituq artists in that she did not use the border of the uncut block to frame her images

Pat Fairhead came to Canada from England when she was 10 years old. Two days after arriving in Toronto she went to Muskoka and fell in love with the Canadian landscape. This sparked a life-long love affair with the wilderness.
At age 15 she was accepted to the Ontario College of Art (now OCADU), but had to wait until she turned 16 before she could attend. She achieved an M.Ed from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, and an M.A. from Goddard College, Vermont.
Inspiration for her work lured her to the Arctic nine times. She paddled up the west coast of British Columbia and a section of the Amazon River. She hiked the outback of Australia, explored South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana, sailed down the Nile and toured around Europe, with many trips to England. She travelled Canada East to West and back.
During her career Pat had 70 solo shows nationally and internationally. Her work can be found in the Royal Collection of Prints and Drawings at Windsor Castle, England, and is represented in at least 200 corporate collections, government buildings and universities.
Pat’s first recognition came at age 16 with a proficiency prize from the Ontario College of Art. She was elected to the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour in 1966, and the Ontario Society of Artists in 1986. She became a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Art in 1993, and was awarded the A.J. Casson Medal for Excellence in Watercolour in 2011.

Toan Klein has spent his professional life immersed in the art glass field. After growing up in and around New York City, he was introduced to glassblowing in Ohio. Eventually he was offered an apprenticeship with master Venetian glassblowers living in Canada. Falling in love with the city, he stayed and set up the first hot glass artist’s studio in Montreal. Toan eventually moved to Toronto, where he maintains a studio and gallery. His glass endeavors have included one-man exhibitions, outdoor art shows, unique commissions, editions, writing articles, running a gallery, teaching, consulting and more. His art glass is found in a variety of museum collections, including the Corning Museum of Glass, NY and the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto.

In addition to his own art, Toan represents several of his colleagues, in the capacity of art glass curator and sales representative at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, Canada, Café Boulud. Each piece was selected for its high level of design and meticulous craftsmanship. Throughout the restaurant you will find many of the works seen on this website. Other glass art by each artist may be offered, such as multiples, editions, installations, commissions and corporate presentations.

Born in Toronto, Geoff attended Upper Canada College and after graduating in architecture from the University of Toronto he went on to apprentice in Boston and in London, England. There, he met his first wife, Joan Alice Howes.

Returning to Toronto, Geoff partnered with David Molesworth to create a niche architectural firm, Armstrong Molesworth Shepherd, dedicated to building unique cottages and country properties that sought to bring clients and their families closer to nature and in so doing, each other. In spite of a busy practice, Geoff maintained a second career as a landscape artist with biannual shows at Toronto&#39;s Roberts Gallery and was an active member of the Royal Canadian Academy, the SCA, OSA and the Arts and Letters Club. Whether in the Arctic, the Queen Charlotte Islands, or the granite majesty of his beloved Georgian Bay, Geoff found deep communion in nature, and rendered it with a deft and reverent brush. His work is held in numerous private collections and museums.

In 1994, Geoff was delighted to begin his second act, with marriage to Barbara Ann Hyland. The two discovered Vieques, an island off the coast of Puerto Rico. There, they spent more than 20 winters at Trilogy, a house whose architecture he admired, but also immediately set about improving. He delighted in building orchid trails and spent hours happily rearranging nature to suit his vision. The vibrant colours of the Caribbean asserted themselves in his later paintings and soon he saw pastels in even the gloomiest of Canada&#39;s rocky shores.   David Geoffrey Scott Armstrong died peacefully in Toronto, on July 22, 2018 at the age of 90
