Lot #10: The Beatles - 2 Acetates "Magical Mystery Tour" Apple Records SMAL 2835

Here we have two single sided 12" acetates with custom Apple Records U.S.A. labels. The type written labels are titled "Magical Mystery Tour" Soundtrack and "Magical Mystery Tour" Singles - Both labels dated 09-27-67 indicating the original release date on Capital Records. The records come housed in their original brown Audiodics paper sleeves. Both acetates have the matrix number SMAL 2835 hand etched in the runoff grooves. These acetates were likely cut in late 1969 - early 1970 as part of the move from Capitol Records to Apple Records. The acetates have a cloudy haze on the playing surface which is quite common on older acetates. Playability is not impacted. It is not recommended to play these acetates with any frequency as the quality will deteriorate. The acetates do play through with no skips, there will be some surface noise and the occasional pop. The acetates will come with their original white inner sleeves, the Audiodiscs brown paper sleeves and a plain white cover. Pickup category timeslot {B}
