Elegant George III mahogany and inlaid work/writing table, circa 1790, appraised originally by Walter S. Beaton, a member of the British Antique Dealers’ Association (as shown in included typed receipt). A fine example of a George III multifunctional lady’s work and writing table, complete with documented mid-20th-century provenance. This refined late-18th-century piece features a cross-banded top, a single fitted drawer containing a writing slide and pen-and-ink compartment, and a sliding fire-screen back. Below is the original work bag (sewing bag), currently in worn condition but retaining its period hardware and form. Stands on square tapered legs terminating in brass cup castors, typical of the Georgian period.
