Lot #104: Mid-Century Modern Japanese Mod Espresso Coffee Service (17 pcs)

A striking seventeen-piece mid-century modern Japanese ceramic espresso or demitasse coffee service showcasing bold 1960s–1970s Op-Art graphic design. The service includes a tall sculpted coffee pot with matching lid and dark loop handle, a round lidded sugar bowl, a matching creamer pitcher, six straight-sided demitasse espresso cups, and six coordinating saucers featuring wide glossy black rim bands and solid black central wells. Each piece is decorated in a rhythmic geometric totem pattern of terracotta-orange circular medallions nested within raised relief black oval line frames over a warm bisque ground, with the underside of the coffee pot stamped in blue "MADE IN JAPAN". The entire set is in excellent vintage condition with bright glossy glaze, no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs, and clean white interior wells throughout. Pickup category timeslot {A}
