Lot #16: First Nations Sterling Silver Pendant with Cobalt Trade Beads

Starting bidding

$1.00

Time Remaining:

Bidding starts in 0d 0h 34m

First Nations pendant necklace, combining high-quality materials with traditional Northwest Coast Indigenous art. The centerpiece is a substantial, teardrop-shaped Sterling Silver pendant that is signed by Haida artist Denny Dixon, and it features a boldly executed Formline design representing a crest figure. The silver surface is highly polished, with contrasting textured, cross-hatched sections adding visual depth to the overall composition. The pendant hangs from a 16" sterling silver chain, which is accented by a cluster of six chunky, cobalt blue trade beads (often referred to as "Blue Russian" trade beads), famous for their historical use as currency among Alaska and Canadian Natives in the fur trade era.
