• Cloisonné is a technique where metal
wires are used to create compartments
(cloisons) on a metal base, which are
then filled with coloured enamel.
• Ginbari is a specific type of cloisonné
where transparent enamel is applied over
a silver foil, creating a shimmering effect.
• This vase features bamboo images
underneath the &#34;pigeon blood&#34; red
enamel background with a design of pink
and white flowers and green leaves.
• The vase is made with a copper core,
which is then coated with a silver layer
that creates a stippled, foil-like
background visible through clear enamel.
• While the base is copper, the wires
used to create the cloisonné patterns are
typically made of silver or gold.

• Rosetree Blown Glass Studio was
founded by Mark Rosenbaum in 1993 in
New Orleans, Louisiana. The studio was
known for its Venetian-style furnace
glasswork.
• Mark Rosenbaum earned the first
Master of Fine Arts in glassblowing from
Tulane University.
• After nearly 50 years, Mark and his wife
Brenda have retired from the hot shop as
of May 2025.
• This is a double layered piece. First a
clear glass base that has been
&#34;rolled&#34;
into bits of varied sized of coloured
glass, then rolled and twisted to create
the swirl pattern. The form was then
pressed into a wooden form to create the
concave base.
• Signed on the base with Rosetree New

Tiffany-Style Stained Glass Christmas Plate

Vintage Czechoslovakia Perfume Bottle
• 1970&#39;s Czechoslovakian perfume
bottles with brass and gold leaf overlay
are collectible items known for ornate,
however specific production details from
that era are scarce.
• This was most likely made in Jablonec
nad Nisou a Czech city known for its
glass and jewelry production.
• The green glass is called Beijing glass
as it mimics the glass and jade.
• The gold gilt brass filigree was a
decorative element during this period.
• The glass bottle is hand cut crystal
shaped into three lobes with the outer
two having the filigree, and the centre
remaining clear.
• There are also four white enamelled
fleur de lie.
• In very good condition, no breaks,
cracks. or chips. Some wear on the lid as
some gold gilt is missing. I have not
been able to open the bottle lid. View

Vintage Czechoslovakia Perfume Bottle

Retro Blue Mountain Deer Sculpture
• Blue Mountain Pottery, Canada,
commonly referred to as &#34;BMP&#34; was
founded by Jozo Weider, a Czech ski
instructor, in the late 1940&#39;s in
Collingwood, Ontario.
• Jozo was constructing the Blue
Mountain Ski Resort, and experimented
in making pottery from the rich red
Georgian Bay clay being removed during
construction of the resort.
• The figurine features the &#34;reflowing&#34;
glaze process, which involved applying
two different glazes, one light, one dark,
that would run together and create
distinct streaks during firing, making no
two pieces identical.
• This deer was mold cast using the
Georgian clay, and dates between 1960&#39;s
and 1970&#39;s. The &#39; &#34;golden&#34; glaze on this
piece is one of their more unusual
colours.

Sterling Silver Filigree Trinket Box
• This has been acid tested, guaranteed
Sterling Silver.
• This is extremely fine filigree work using
fine silver wire, twinning it, hammering it
flat, then forming the various loops and
curls.
• The side of the box is similar in that the
twined silver has been hammered, and
then attached to a silver sheet, and run
through a rolled to flatten the design.
• There is no maker&#39;s mark on the piece,
so researching has said French, Italian,
and English Victorian. However, I believe
this was made in Asia in either Bali
Indonesia or India.
• As to age, it&#39;s 20th century.
• In excellent condition, no breaks,

Betty Franklin Seal Serving Dish
• Betty Franklin from Comox, BC. I have
not been able to gather information on
her ceramics history, but she have been
a potter for over 30 years.
• This is a slabbed formed &#34;Sleeping
Seal&#34; serving dish made with a greyish
stoneware clay.
• Betty has used a glaze incorporating
wood ash and cobalt oxide. Betty
collects the wood ash from a kilns fired
with wood for use in her glazes, so
mostly Douglas fir or cedar ash.
• Fired to Cone 10 in a gas kiln.
• In excellent condition, no breaks,

Tokkuri or Sake Flask
• Kutani-ware has been produced in
Japan for over 300 years within remote
villages of the &#34;nine valleys&#34; (Kutani
means nine valleys) region of Kaga
province in Japan&#39;s /shikawa prefecture.
• This Kutani porcelain sake flask
features hand-painted floral designs on
the body and the Kutani mark on the
underside.
• The tokkuri was fired four times; bisque,
oxide burnt red colour, enamel flower
decoration, and finally the 22 carat gold
overlay.
• This sake flask was made during the
late Japanese Showa period 1926-1989.
• In excellent condition, no breaks,

Degenhart Crystal Art Glass company.
• This lone star cowboy boot was made
by Boyd Glass USA (now closed), and is
a vintage example of the Boyd artisans.
• It&#39;s uranium carnival glass, has the
Boyd logo on the heel and the lone star
on the sole.
• One line above the &#34;B&#34;, dates this piece
between 1983-1988.

Japanese Kutani Ware (1900 - 1920)
• Kutani ware is a traditional style of
Japanese porcelain known for its
combination of thrown porcelain or
stoneware then retired with vibrant
enamels, often featuring traditional motifs
like flowers and birds.
• Kutani Gosai: A hallmark of Kutani ware
is the use of five signature colors, known
as Kutani gosai: navy blue, red, purple,
green, and yellow pigments.
• Origin and History: Kutani ware (tAlt,
Kutani-yaki) originated in the Kaga region
of Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, with a
history spanning over 350 years.
• The marks on the bottom written in
Kanji, and are from Ishikawa Prefecture.
• The characters read from right to left,
are tÂ (Kutani) and then a stylized
character often interpreted as &#34;sei&#34; (54)
meaning &#34;made,&#34; or &#34;zo&#34; (E) meaning
&#34;created&#34;. This indicates the piece was
either made in the Kutani region or
created in the Kutani style.
• In mixed condition. The li of the vase
was broken at some point and repaired.
The rest of the vase is in excellent
condition. One small chip on the
enamel, but otherwise in perfect

• Darcy Margesson spent 3 years of
Study at UBC, then the Shadbolt Centre
for the Arts. He spent a year at the
University of Montana and studied with
the famed American ceramicist, Rudy
Autio. He studied ceramics at the Alberta
College of Art for 4 years and returned to
Vancouver in 1985.
• Darcy&#39;s earthenware pottery can be
found at many craft fairs, and he sold
through the Gallery of BC Ceramics and
at Circle Craft Co-op.
• This dish is a medium fire red clay body,
with a majolica Italian style glaze of two
bird forms in a ying/yang design.
• Darcy&#39;s signature is on the reverse.

• The Mount Washington Glass Co. was
a major American glass producer from
1837 to 1894. The Pairpoint
Manufacturing Co. too over the Mt.
Wash. in 1900, and closed in 1957.
• This opalescent pitcher was made
between 1940 and 1957.
• This pitcher is hand-blown and cased,
meaning it has multiple layers of glass,
with the outer layer being a semi-translucent,
&#34;satin&#34; finish.
• The pitcher has a pale blue aqua satin
finished and &#34;quilted&#34; pattern with the
frosted camphor lip and edges.
• The handle is also a frosted glass that
was applied separately.
• There is a clear pontil mark, and is an
unsigned piece.

• Matryoshka dolls, also known as
Russian nesting dolls, originated in the
late 1890&#39;s, and are a relatively modern
creation.
• The first set was created in 1890 by
Vasily Zvyozdochkin.
• The concept was inspired by a
Japanese Fukurama doll, which was
brought to Russia by Elizaveta
Mamontova.
• The dolls are made from various
materials: linden wood, acrylic paints,
water-based gloss varnish.
• This Matryoshka doll set date between
1980 and 1990, as &#34;strawberries&#34;
seemed to be a theme during this time
period.

work in ceramics at Sheridan College,
where he helped establish Canada&#39;s first
college-level hot glass program after a
life-changing workshop in 1968.
• He opened his first studio, Skookum Art
Glass Inc., in Calgary in 1978 before
moving to Vancouver in 1987 to create
Robert Held Art Glass.
• After retiring in 2013, he moved to
Parksville, BC, and later reopened a new
studio there to continue his work, often
collaborating with his former artists.
• This piece was made between 1987 and 2013.
