Lot #78: Vintage Copper Firepit

Vintage copper firepit is a stunning throwback to the times when people used these vessels to heat a home. Now these are in great demand for their decorative uses, including as an outdoor wood-burning backyard firebowl, or as a rustic planter (indoor or outdoor) or even as a large ice bucket. It's big: 30" wide and 12" high when it's mounted on its included wrought iron stand. It's also heavy: the copper lid and basin each weigh 6 pounds. A small, weathered bird figurine attached to the centre serves as a handle for the lid (pic 9). The surface has a beautiful copper patina with some surface wear. There is one spot on the copper basin that has some tarnish and damage to the surface (pic 6). The small grate also has a bit of rust (pic 7).
