This is a 1984 Sudbury, Ontario, Royal Visit Medallion. It commemorates the visit of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh to Sudbury in 1984. 
The medallion replicates the 1951 Canadian 5-cent &#34;Nickel&#34; coin.
It was created by local visionary Ted Szilva to help raise funds before the iconic 9-meter-tall &#34;Big Nickel&#34; monument was built.
