Lot #133: Three Half Doll Pin Cushions

Lot includes three antique/vintage, hand-painted, porcelain half dolls with attached pin cushions. The woman with grey hair, blue headband, and yellow trim on her blouse, is posed with one hand to her chest and the other raised near her head and is likely the oldest, dating from c. 1920's. She is incised 'Germany' on her lower back with a model number that is partially hidden under the gold coloured skirt with lace overskirt. In total, the piece is 6 1/4 inches high and about 5 3/4 inches across. The second largest doll dates from around the 1930's and has impressed numbers on the back that can't be fully read without removing the pincushion but might also be German. The woman has a bobbed hairstyle and is dressed in a layered red and cream crocheted skirt over a red velvet pincushion. Someone has added a bit of extra decoration with a pair of beaded clip on earrings on each side. In total, this piece is just shy of 5 inches tall with approximately 3 1/2 inches across the pincushion. The smallest pincushion doll is wearing a green dress and carrying flowers in one arm. It is about 4 1/4 inches tall in total and 3 1/4 inches across. She is marked "Foreign" on the lower back and could be German or Japanese. There is wear and staining on the pin cushions but this is to be expected given their age and use and the porcelain components are all in very good vintage condition.
