Lot #17: Antique Insulator Collection

Starting bidding

$1.00

Time Remaining:

Bidding starts in 0d 1h 11m

These once-utilitarian items have become highly collectible, with their beautiful translucent colors and varying shapes. Insulators came into use in the mid 1800s, when telegraph lines became common, and were necessary to protect the wooden poles from the electrical wires. Their use spread as telephones and electric power lines came into widespread use. This lot contains insulators from Whitall Tatum, Brookfield, Hemingray, and Victor, in aqua, clear glass, one white ceramic, and one unusual glass with a clear top over smoke base, possibly caused by sun exposure. These date to the last half of the 1800s and into the early 1900s, and are all in good to very good condition. Bring box and packing materials. Pickup category timeslot {B}
