As can be seen throughout this auction, our client is a serious bird lover. Here again, the beautiful Limoges - France plate with hand-painted grouse against a natural backdrop is emblematic of our client's passion for wildlife. With gold rim and scalloped edging. Stamped L.R.L. with the Crown. Two small powder blue classic wedgwood jasperware plates with raised Roman reliefs. A Chateaudun 9.5" dinner plate by Haviland Limoges. An unusual Wedgwood England Blue Lustre Cabinet Plate with an intricate Celestial Dragon motif. Vivid colors with a gold overlaid pattern of dragons. Designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones around the 1920s. Susannah Margaretta Makeig-Jones (l88l-l945) was an important designer for Wedgwood in the period around the First World War and is mainly recognised for her Fairyland Lustre work. See the 1975 comprehensive guide: Fairyland Lustre: The Work of Daisy Makeig-Jones. And then another celebration of birds is alive on an Incolay Stone "Birds of Paradise" keepsake jewelry box. According to our research it is crafted from a material made of crushed stone and a coupling agent, designed to mimic the appearance of carved stone. The material is known for its ability to reproduce intricate, detailed artistry, often in a Victorian or classical style. Incolay products were handcrafted in the United States, primarily during the 1970s and 1980s. This box features a prominent, detailed relief carving of two birds on the lid, surrounded by floral motifs. The hinge needs re-attachment but the box itself is intact with slight soiling and discoloration on lid (see picture). Dimensions: Incolay box: 10.25" x 6.5"; Jasperware plates: 4.25"ea. Limoge Grouse: 8"; Chateaudun dinner plate: 9.5"; Wedgwood Blue Lustre Plate: 10" Pickup category timeslot {A}
