The detailed leaf structures, including central stems and radiating leaflets, suggest these are impressions from prehistoric vascular plants, possibly dating back to the Carboniferous or early Permian period (roughly 300 million years ago). These types of fossils are typically found in sedimentary rock, which forms from layers of mud or silt that compact over time, preserving organic material.
