Paragon Birks Queen Elizabeth II commemorative teacup and saucer

This fine bone china teacup and saucer was produced to mark the first anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on June 2nd, 1954. 

Marked Paragon, it was produced by Henry Birks and Sons, by Appointment to the Crown. 

The background colour is a light blue, detailed with an intricate gold and rose design, around a central motif of the crown on a leaf, also surrounded by pink roses. 

The outside of the cup is white white gold around the centre of the cup and the base. 

The cup and saucer have a gentle wave shape to the edges. 

It is a pleasure to drink tea from this delicate, ornate cup.
