Framed Japanese Wood Block Print, Signed by Artist Toshijiro Inagaki (1902 - 1963) Frame measures: 13" high x 14 1/2" wide Detailed biography of artist, Toshijiro Inagaki, on back of frame: Toshijiro Inagaki, a Kyoto University of Arts professor and woodblock print artist designated as a Living National Treasure of Japan. Born in Kyoto in 1902 and graduated from Kyoto University of Arts (then Kyoto Painting School) in 1922. Awarded the Tokusen prize at the Nitten Exhibition twice, in 1941 and 1943. Designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Asset (Living National Treasure) in 1962. His works are permanently displayed in several museums, including the Tokyo Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Los Angeles Museum.
