Well-aged original condition Frame 28.25" x 28.25" artwork 22" x 22" https://carnegiegallery.org/marg-peter/ After graduating from Windsor Teachers’ College in 1963, Margaret taught school for six years before completing her B.F.A. from the University of Guelph in 1974. She was a member of the co-operative gallery Chimera in Salem, Ontario from 1976-78, and was a printmaking instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University from 1988 to 2006. She creates paintings, prints and collages with an interest in textures that are reflected in her floral, landscape, and fossil images. Her work explores the evolution of the land and its various creatures, and often includes found feathers, shells or fossils. Margaret has been represented by the Kloepfer Gallery, and Barber Gallery, Guelph; the Rebecca Gallery, Toronto; and Gallery Streetsville. She is a member of the Guelph Creative Arts Association, the Central Ontario Art Association, Visual Arts Ontario, and is an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists (1990) and the Ontario Society of Artists (1991). She has also received five Ontario Arts Council grants. Margaret has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and her work has received many awards.
