Lot #120: Group of Vintage Japanese Woodworking Planes (Kanna) & Hand Tools

Group of vintage Japanese woodworking tools, primarily kanna (Japanese hand planes), used for shaving, smoothing, and shaping wood using a traditional pulling motion. The lot includes multiple wooden-bodied planes in varying sizes and configurations, along with additional small hand tools (see photos for full contents).. Several of the planes appear to be specialty or adjustable styles, possibly used for cutting grooves or shaping joinery. Japanese planes are traditionally made with solid wood bodies and steel blades fitted into a tapered mortise and adjusted by tapping, rather than mechanical screws. Condition appears consistent with age and use, showing surface wear, patina, and tool marks. Untested. Blades and fittings are present as shown.
