The item is a Japanese ceremonial flag has been hung as a decorative wall hanging. It features symbolic imagery related to traditional Japanese culture: The large central design is a kabuto (samurai armour helmet) with additional armour details on the sleeves. Other symbols include a tsuzumi (hand drum), a crane, and an Uchide-no-Kodzuchi (lucky mallet). It also depicts Sho-Chiku-Bai, the "three lucky plants" of pine, bamboo, and plum.
