Rare Large African Wood Polychrome Mask Igbo Nigeria Agbogho Mmwo Headdress Man Sitting on Head This is a very rare mask. The man sitting on top of the head is holding on to 2 horns. About the mask: These masks represent the spirit of a girl; its shape, physiological features and complex hairstyle are the characteristic of feminine beauty in Igbos. The young people wear these masks during the initiation ceremonies. Condition: overall great condition - there are some cracks and the neck of the man on top of the mask seems to have been repaired.
