This trio of globes all stand on wood bases; the 12" globe has a semi-meridian. All were designed by cartographer LeRoy Tolman, and produced by Repogle. For 44 years Chicago native Tolman tracked changes around the world as manifested in the names and boundaries of nations, often having to make last minute changes. He also occasionally predicted these changes, working with the CIA and other other US and foreign governments. His long-time employer Repogle began in 1930 as a supplier of globes for schools, producing stock out of the basement of founder Luther Repogle. WWII, and especially Pearl Harbor, brought a boom in business as Americans realized they needed to know more about the world, and also see where loved ones might be stationed. These globes are in good condition, and feature slightly raised topographical features, as well as cartouches crediting Tolman. Likely dating to the mid-1900s. Dimensions: 2 @ 9"D X 16"H and 1 @ 12"D X 17"H Pickup category timeslot {C}
