This is a giclee print of The Canoe (1912) by Tom Thomson.  Tom Thomson (1877 - 1917) is considered one of the most important and infuential Canadian artists.  He painted from an intense inner necessity and a love of the Ontario north.  He was close to members of the Group of Seven and had a profound influence on their work, however Tom Thomson died before the group’s official 1920 formation.

This is a vintage decorative hammered aluminum tray with handle.  The tray features a Chrysanthemum flower design and has scalloped edges.   Bottom shows the Continental Trade Mark model #538 stamp.   These trays were produced by the Continental Silver Company of New York City starting in the late 1930s when the company started to manufacture aluminum ware.  Nice patina.  Can work well as a catch-all tray, or for cards, etc.
