Features a heavy, rugged solid wood construction (likely pine or elm) with a top-opening hatch door. The piece is entirely adorned with its original hand-wrought black iron corner brackets, stylized central lock plate, heavy iron hinges, and robust side carrying handles.Unlike mid-century decorative reproductions, this true antique features a completely unlined, bare-wood interior built for utilitarian security.
