This object is a vintage Native American Indian Chief Toby Jug (also referred to as a character mug or small creamer pitcher), handcrafted in ceramic. It dates back to the late 1940s, a period after World War II when items imported from Japan were required to be marked "Made in Occupied Japan". Key Features Design: The mug is shaped like the head of a Native American man wearing a traditional feathered headdress. Dimensions: These miniature jugs typically stand approximately 2.75 to 3 inches tall. Craftsmanship: They are known for being expertly hand-painted, featuring detailed and expressive facial features.
