Thomas John Thomson (August 5, 1877 – July 8, 1917) was a Canadian artist active in the early 20th century. During his short career, he produced roughly 400 oil sketches on small wood panels and approximately 50 larger works on canvas.[note 4] His works consist almost entirely of landscapes, depicting trees, skies, lakes, and rivers. He used broad brush strokes and a liberal application of paint to capture the beauty and colour of the Ontario landscape. Thomson is considered by many Canadians as the archetypal painter,[6] and his later work has heavily influenced Canadian art – paintings such as The Jack Pine and The West Wind have taken a prominent place in the culture of Canada and are some of the country&#39;s most iconic works. His accidental death by drowning at 39 shortly before the founding of the Group of Seven is seen as a tragedy for Canadian art.

Richard’s unique style has a heavy influence of both traditional and contemporary design, and shows his versatility as an artist. Having worked on drums, paddles, masks, boxes and rattles over his career, as well as his paintings. Richard&#39;s work is well loved and respected and is collected nationwide.

Gagnon&#39;s style is known for its strong color, luminous qualities, and elements of Realism and Impressionism.

Professionally framed and numbered print by Canadian artist Clarence Gagnon. The frame is black, it is double matted in white with grey and a silver fillet. 

Titled - &#34;Ice Harvest”

The painting depicts a winter scene in rural Quebec, specifically the Charlevoix region, showing villagers engaged in the communal task of harvesting ice. The work is a &#34;profound meditation on community spirit&#34; and a celebration of rural life, where the activity and the community are the central focus rather than individual figures.

A.J. Casson (1898 - 1992) was a member of the world famous Canadian artists - "The Group of Seven”.

It's numbered 105 out of only 300 ever produced, and a copy of the original appraisal certificate is included.&nbsp; MaxSold excludes appraisal values, as they cannot be guaranteed.


This lithograph was created using the M. Bernard Loates' Bertone process which uses neither dots nor screens to produce this high quality piece. Mr Loates is recognized as one of the finest printing artisans and well respected as a printer and artist in his own right. This world renowned printer is best known in Canada for his work with AJ Casson - the last living member of the Group Of Seven.

A.J. Casson is the only member of the ”Group of Seven” artists to personally initial any lithographs. This is part of that collection.
