The painting depicts the biblical story of Judith, a Hebrew widow who infiltrated the Assyrian general Holofernes&#39;s camp and beheaded him after he fell into a drunken stupor. 

Johann Liss created this oil on canvas painting around 1624-1625, and it is housed in the Szépművészeti Múzeum (Museum of Fine Arts) in Budapest, Hungary.
