Sterling Silver WW2 Memorial Cross on an antique English long, sterling silver chain. It is a commemorative decoration awarded to the mothers and widows of Canadian military personnel who died while serving in the armed forces. First instituted in 1919 following World War I.  The cross is sterling silver and features the royal cypher of the reigning monarch at the time of issuance. This award has King George VI (reigned from the mid-1930s to the early 1950s) awarded for losses during World War II.
