Lot #6: Unique Botanical Notebooks

Starting bidding

$1.00

Time Remaining:

Bidding starts in 0d 2h 57m

Unique record of an amateur botanist's work, this multi-volume set of notebooks contains colored pencil drawings of flowering plants and their Latin names, with various inserts of plant lists, and a few pressed flowers. They were once part of the library at the Apostolic School of LaSalette, in Hartford, CT, where missionaries are trained for work around the globe. The artist, E.J. Plattier, was a brother there; the initials M.S. after his name stand for Missionarium Saletiniensis, which means Missionaries of Our Lady of LaSalette. One penciled note indicates 1912 as the creation date. Plain composition notebooks, some wrapped in brown paper, all in good condition with some wear to corners and covers. We have Volumes I-II and IV-XIV--we're looking for Vol III. Pickup category timeslot {A}
