We've nicknamed this piece the Rough Rider as it recalled Teddy Roosevelt's Cavalry command  to us. So we've included a "Modern Library" book and a small popular pamphlet from the long-gone John Hancock Insurance free series highlighting Teddy's travels and hunts.  The sculpture itself is a fine untitled, undated, cast brass or bronze sculpture depicting a rider on a horse scoping out the scene, most likely a hunter of sorts. Signed in a mold plaque to back of plinth, and sitting on a black marble base. Leonardo Rossi was an Italian American sculptor born in 1957, known for his figurative sculptures. Sculpture rests on base easily but can be detached, one screw in marble - see picture. Authenticity indeterminate.

Huge Iron-strapped Wooden Trunk

With the distinctive ushnisha nobby, almost aflame headress/finial, and seated in the earthbound mudra position, this buddha lends a sense of knowing calm, acceptance,  and enlightenment to any environment.  Most likely bronze, non- magnetic, and heavy. it deserves its space. Gathering a nice patina, needs a gentle wipe. Condition: very good.

Vintage Seated Thai Sukhothai Buddha

Hand-painted fantastic creatures grace each tile, with slight relief effect. A floral band runs across the top and bottom, while delicate clouds decorate the backgrounds. Tiles float on subtly patterned silk, and are framed in a substantial gesso over wood black frame with inner gilt rim. Both the dragon and the phoenix are powerful, positive symbols in Chinese culture, with dragons associated with royal power, and phoenixes with wisdom, kindness, and propriety. When combined, they represent the balance between yin (female/phoenix) and yang (male/dragon), and thus symbolize married harmony and mutual support. A few chips to frame, as shown.

Framed Dragon and Phoenix Chinese Lacquer Paintings

Unique record of an amateur botanist&#39;s work, this multi-volume set of notebooks contains colored pencil drawings of flowering plants and their Latin names, with various inserts of plant lists, and a few pressed flowers. They were once part of the library at the Apostolic School of LaSalette, in Hartford, CT, where missionaries are trained for work around the globe. The artist, E.J. Plattier, was a brother there; the initials M.S. after his name stand for Missionarium Saletiniensis, which means Missionaries of Our Lady of LaSalette. One penciled note indicates 1912 as the creation date. Plain composition notebooks, some wrapped in brown paper, all in good condition with some wear to corners and covers.  We have Volumes I-II and IV-XIV--we&#39;re looking for Vol III.

Event Motorcycle Jacket &#38; Accessories

An antique Springer Torsion Balance, Style 251 - a high-precision, Class A apothecary/pharmaceutical scale from the early 20th century. Housed in a very handsome dark-stained oak and glass case with two removable weighing pans. We did not dare open and did not want to disturb too much so will leave that to a knowledgable collector. Patent numbers are obvious in pictures. This scale uses corrosion-resistant alloy torsion bands instead of <span style"background-color: rgb(255, 193, 7);">cutting</span>-edges to measure, offering high sensitivity for compounding.  Both 8" glass weighing pans intact and un-chipped. With adjustable side bolts for precise balance adjustment to surface.  Examples of these, such as the one in the National Museum of American History (Acc# 288176), are highly regarded for their role in the history of measurement. A spectacular artifact and a testament to intricate innovation. The technology was developed by Frederick A. Roeder and Alfred Springer, who established the Torsion Balance and Scale Co. in 1882. In 1891, the Franklin Institute awarded a medal to Roeder and Springer for their innovative balance.  FRAGILE and heavy - bring box and padding - first floor .

Springer Torsion Balance Style 251

PLEASE NOTE: This item will NOT be available until 3pm - NO exceptions.  Also it is very long (almost 8 feet!) and heavy.  Bring help and an appropriate vehicle - see measurements!  A super colorful, traditional Tibetan style credenza with two sets of hinged doors offering plenty of storage. This five paneled cabinet (center panel is stationary) is decorated with striking borders filled with flowers set in raised squares with peach, teal, and burgundy backgrounds. The delicate lines of the excellent gesso work add depth and relief to the flowers and squares giving them a carved appearance. Each panel also features a raised shiny ebony geometric pattern over a brilliant fiery red base.  This piece has been intentionally distressed and is not in perfect condition although wear to edges etc is very minor (and frankly, in our opinion, adds to its charm); the crack at far right base interior is definitely reparable and does not affect functionality.

Vintage Tools

Edward Lear, 1804-1888, is best known for his children&#39;s and nonsense poems, including &#34;The Owl and the Pussycat,&#34; and his likewise silly limericks. He was also a self-taught naturalist and artist, and at an early age was selling illustrations for use in natural history books. (Unlike Audubon, Lear drew from life, and spared his subjects!) This talent brought him to the attention of the Earl of Derby, who provided him with residency and funding for some years, and launched his career by introducing him to the world of monied British peers. Lear was the 20th of 21 children, whose parents had a rocky financial existence at times, and suffered from respiratory issues as well as epilepsy, none of which put a damper on his rise. When his poor eyesight made it increasingly difficult to complete his detailed nature drawings, the Earl provided funds and introductions for a move to Italy, where Lear became a landscape painter and began to write his poems. This pair of hand-colored engravings date to 1843, and show a Blue-banded Nondes and a Kuhl&#39;s Coriphilus, both engraved after Lear&#39;s original by William H. Lizars. Somewhat unusually, Lizars engraved these plates on steel rather than copper, and the harder medium allowed for a finer line. They were hand-colored before publication, and here present a lovely pair in double cream mattes, framed under glass in gilt faux bamboo. Excellent condition.

Pair Hand-colored Edward Lear Engravings 

A fine collection of pots from Nemadji Pottery, of Moose Lake, Minnesota. Founded in 1929, and erroneously believed to be produced by indigenous&nbsp;Americans, Nemadji pottery is created from the mud of the Nemadji River. Each piece is unique, due to the process by which the pots were dipped into a vat of water which had various paint colors suspended on the surface. The pot was lowered and then twisted as it was pulled upward to create the patterns. Exteriors are unglazed, while interiors are glazed to be water resistant. These pieces likely were created after 1950, with the exception of the vase to furthest left in the back row in the first image, which is pre-1950. All in excellent condition. Nemadji Pottery

Cast metal buddha, possibly bronze, stands solemnly on a circular base with lotus motif, the right hand raised in the abhaya mudra position. This mudra indicates protection from fear and anger, as the raised hand serves as a shield against negative aspects, while at the same time the open palm signifies peace. The left hand is fully extended, with the palm open, in the varada mudra position, symbolizing charity, compassion, and selflessness in service to others.  The standing pose also indicates a buddha firmly grounded, and ready to teach. A heavy statue, with hollow base.

Two Whiting &#38; Davis Purses and Rosary Holder 

These four pages were removed from &#34;The Book of Health,&#34; copyrighted in 1885. Published by W.P. Mason of Providence, RI, these books contained information on health and wellness, as well as information on medicinal plants, and were intended as reference books for families and laypeople. The book featured several inserts with hinged flaps, which could be lifted to reveal successively deeper underlying anatomical layers of various parts of the body. This set, of the head, has the final image (in upper left) of a phrenological map showing which areas of the brain were once believed to control certain behaviors and urges. Colors are vivid, in a 4-window matte with incised border, framed under glass.

Commercial Cool Remote Air Conditioner

Mostly brass, this collection features embellished ewers, a few with Asian and Middle Eastern origins. The tallest has verre églomisé panels with scenes of Chinese sages around the body, sinuous spout and handle, plus lid. In verre églomisé, scenes are painted on glass, meant to be viewed in reverse, and so protected from normal wear. Raised maker&#39;s stamp in cartouche to underside. Another has applied blue hardstone cabochons, possibly turquoise, and consists of a pot with lidded hinge that rests in a separate stand. A few stones are missing, as shown. An ornate cast lidless ewer with cherubs and fruits, appears to be brass-finished spelter, with some damage to handle, as shown. Two with hinged lids, both stamped on undersides. Bring a box and packing materials.

Okay we understand - the chances of an aviation enthusiast being a dual bisque doll collector are slim, but we&#39;re taking our chances!  Here offered: two detailed diecast metal collectible models of US Air Force aircraft with USAF lettering and US flag insignias. One the Air Force One USAF Boeing VC-25A 29000 (marked on tail)  Transport Aircraft &#34;Air Force One - United States of America&#34;. The second a model of a Boeing E-4B &#34;Nightwatch&#34; aircraft often referred to as the &#34;Doomsday plane&#34; Marked on tail 3676.  Both models missing small parts and wheels. See pictures for measurements. 
On the homefront, an adorable Nippon bisque baby with very American features - painted open eyes and rosy cheeks, red painted puckered lips and shoes. A &#34;peg&#39; doll with joints held together by wire connectors.  No clothes but otherwise fine.  Approx: 6&#34;L .  Stamped NIPPON on back. - no number.  And a not-so-old but delightful and well worn 6&#34; Jack & Jill ABC plate in red and black.

Two Vintage Metal Model USAF Aircraft and Bisque Doll

This lot features several vintage brooches bursting with color and spark - an aquamarine starfish, a large &#34;diamond&#34; flower, a bulging bouquet, and two pair of scarab pendants, one of slate- enclosed with a metal band, the other a dung beetle, probably glazed soapstone - both with hieroglyphs inscribed on the underside. A well-made 6.5&#34;L vintage blue rhinestone bracelet with large faceted teardrop stones secured in a silver-tone metal frame with prongs. The row of teardrops is bordered on top and bottom by a strip of lighter blue round rhinestones. Double security with fold-over &#34;box&#34; clasp and a chain. A 6&#34;W x 4&#34; x 2&#34; H glass hinged trinket box with turquoise soldered panels and etched floral glass. A rhinestone tennis bracelet with box clasp, and two silver chains. An then the Afghan necklace in mint condition. . The Rupee on the necklace was representative prior 1925. The Afghan Afghani (AFN), replaced the Afghan rupee in 1925. The Taliban, which took control in 2021, has banned the use of foreign currencies, including the Pakistani rupee, in local transactions, enforcing the use of the Afghani. This item is permitted to use the rupee as decorations because these pieces are considered nomadic art, historical heirlooms, or cultural heritage items rather than currency in circulation, allowing them to bypass modern bans on foreign money. According to our research. this tradition, often associated with Kuchi (nomadic) tribes, uses coins primarily for their metal value (silver) and aesthetic, acting as a display of wealth, a protective amulet, and a reflection of a history of trade along the Silk Road.

A special piece, this trunk is crafted of wood that has been wrapped in embossed copper on three sides as well as the lid. The petaled design looks a bit like a dragonfly, and is repeated on the top and front panels. Bail pull handles at each side, lion&#39;s paw front feet, and brass hinges. Note that knots are lifting out of the wood in two places--leave as is or glue in.

Two shallow commemorative 3&#34; square heavy brass catch-all plates from the &#34;Caciques de Venezuela&#34; (Chieftains of Venezuela) series featuring indigenous chiefs, one Manaure, a chief of the Caquetio people who ruled the Gulf of Venezuela region, and Cacique Mara. Larger-scale display jars are fine examples of hand-painted Asian china. The octagonal jar features alternating yellow and blue sides, all heavily decorated with flowers in pots, and animals including bats, birds, butterflies, continued in likewise alternating panels around the mouth. Reign mark inked in red on bottom. Lidded temple jar is covered with irises, peonies, foliage, butterflies on a black ground, in the famille noire colors. The lid has a fixed brass ring lift.
