Virgil Abloh (died Nov. 28, 2021) was a trained architect, fashion designer and became the Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton&#39;s menswear collection beginning in 2018. He was given access to Alessi&#39;s full catalog and decided to collaborate on the best selling Michael Graves Design 9093 Whistling Bird Kettle. According to Alessi, the original 9093 kettle was &#34;born out of Michael Graves&#39; desire to bring &#39;design made in the USA&#39; to life, the 9093 kettle has spanned four decades with the force of its decidedly pop language.&#34;

The 3909 kettle mixes different cultural aspects: the phenomenon of basketball and its multicultural imagery, an integral part of Abloh&#39;s personal history, with the world of design and its codified references. The whistle is completely redesigned, taking the form of a basketball player who crushes with power to the basket, while the colours of the handle and the knob are lit with an intense purple.

Frantic Farms is a clay and glass gallery in Warkworth, Ontario. The estates owner was a potter in the Durham Potters&#39; Guild alongside the co-owner of Frantic Farms - Monica Johnston and purchased this piece made by the glassblower at the studio, Paulus Tijang.

&#34;I have blown glass for over thirty years. My education and indoctrination into the work of my life began at The Ontario College of Art, when there was still a glass studio there. It had fewer letters in the acronym of its name, circa 1984. After graduating, I traveled to places where glass was important. One such place was Pilchuck Glass School, founded by Dale Chihuly, where I met and worked with renowned glass artists. Most influential were Lino Tagliapetra, and Benjamin Moore. It was there that I discovered Venetian style glass work.&#34;

Signed hand-built ceramic mug sculpture

Hand-built mug sculpture signed, made by Chandler Swain. Whimsical styling is intentional. Chandler Swain studied painting at the Ontario College of Art and Hornsey College of Art (London, England) before switching to major in ceramic art at Sheridan College (Oakville, Ontario) in the mid 70s. She took her knowledge of design and surface decoration, inspired by artists such as Honore Daumier, the Pre-Raphaelites, Looney Tunes animators, sculptor Joe Fafard and many more, into the world of clay. 

Her work is known for strong, lyrical, graphic, and textural surfaces and often whimsical subject matter. She varies her studio practice between making vessels and figurative sculpture depending on what influences are at play. Play is the operative word as this is the driving dynamic of her life: the great cosmic and human comedy, so full of adventure and possibility. 

Her work is available at The General (General Fine Craft Gallery) in Almonte, Ontario, at 260 Fingers, and at her website.
