This lithograph is part of the famous “Casson's Cassons" Volume 1 and Volume 2. They are highly sought-after, limited-edition and authorized portfolio collections. They feature artwork by famed Group of Seven member A.J. Casson. Each volume includes signed, initialed, and numbered images. The name "Casson's Casson's" was used for this collection as every year A.J. Casson and his wife picked two of his paintings to keep for their own private collection, these lithographs are copies of the chosen pieces. This beautiful (unframed) hand initialed print is nicely packaged and would make a wonderful present for yourself or that art lover in your life. This collection was kept safe for many years by A.J. Casson's publisher and has now become available to the public. Important to note that these prints are all hand signed by Canada's Group Of Seven member - A.J. Casson. There are many Group Of Seven images in the secondary market that pass as signed by members of the group of seven but those are not actually signed and are usually written as "By AJ Casson" - those are not truly signed by the artist. This extraordinary collection is personally signed and authenticated. “Pugh Lake” Hand numbered and titled, this lithograph was personally approved and hand initialed by A.J. Casson himself. A.J. Casson (1898 - 1992) was a member of the world famous Canadian artists - "The Group of Seven”. It's numbered 254 out of only 300 ever produced, and a copy of the original appraisal certificate is included. MaxSold excludes appraisal values. This lithograph was created using the M. Bernard Loates' Bertone process which uses neither dots nor screens to produce this high quality piece. Mr Loates is recognized as one of the finest printing artisans and well respected as a printer and artist in his own right. This world renowned printer is best known in Canada for his work with AJ Casson - the last living member of the Group Of Seven. A.J. Casson is the only member of the ”Group of Seven” artists to personally initial any lithographs.
