Lot #180: “Fromages” Framed Print

This is a framed and matted print of a painting by Andre Renoux. It depicts a store where one might buy butter, eggs and cheese. Renoux was born in Oran (Algeria) in 1939 and died in Paris in 2002. He was a French painter, engraver and lithographer. His works mostly represent Paris but also London, Venice, New York, Boston and San Francisco; he painted streets, shops, cafes, courtyards, old facades and restaurant interiors. He himself called his painting “poetic reality.” The print is double matted with a light peach border and a large cream/colored mat.
