This Antique 1920's The Taikito Company The Immortals Decorative Porcelain Plate Set of 5 would make a lovely addition to your collection or home. The pattern is called The Immortals in Moriage a'la Kyoto Satsuma. It was made by The Taikito Company between 1920-1930. This is a set of 1 large and 4 Smaller decorative plates. The mark on the bottom of the plates is one of the standard marks of the Japaense company called The Takito Company (1880-1948). While known for lustreware (lusterware) decoration in the style of Noritake, they also made moriage wares in the Satsuma style and many other types of tablewares. The diamond/rectangle pottery mark with the "T-T" insignia is found on much of their lustreware production and so likely dates from the 1920's and 30's when this decoration style was fashionable. These antique plates typically feature: -Hand-painted designs often depicting figures, landscapes, or mythological scenes. Vibrant colors, including reds, blues, greens, and browns, with gold leaf detailing. A "moriage" technique, where raised enamel is applied to create a three-dimensional effect. -Markings on the bottom reads "T T Hand Painted. Made in Japan". - Decorative Plate Set - Ceramic construction - Hand-painted enamel with gold gilding - Likely Japanese origin - Motifs: Figures/people and landscape - Approx. 6–9 inches diameter - Condition: Good; minor wear to gilding and some crazing Pickup category timeslot {A}
