10.5" Galileo thermometer, a decorative temperature-measuring instrument based on the scientific principles of buoyancy and density.  Operating Principle: The thermometer consists of a sealed glass cylinder filled with a liquid in which several glass spheres of different densities are suspended.  Temperature Indication: As the surrounding temperature changes, the density of the liquid in the cylinder changes, causing the spheres to rise or fall.  Reading the Temperature: The current temperature is indicated by the lowest sphere among those floating at the top of the cylinder.  Features: These thermometers are typically crafted from glass, individually calibrated, and feature colorful spheres marked with specific temperatures.  Pickup category timeslot {A}
