Lot #75: 60 Stamp Collection Ajman State

Collection of 60 mid-century stamps from the Ajman State and its Dependencies. Includes individual and a large block set of 16 and a small block set of 12 stamps. The Emirate of Ajman, the smallest state in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has two main inland exclaves (dependencies) that are geographically separated from the main city coastal area.  The two dependencies of Ajman are:  * Manama: An agricultural oasis located about 60 km east of Ajman city, bordering Sharjah and Fujairah. * Masfout: A mountainous region located about 110 km southeast of Ajman city, bordering Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, and Oman.  Historical Context ("Ajman State and its Dependencies" Stamps): Between 1964 and 1972, the Ajman post office and a separate post office in the dependency of Manama (opened 1966) issued many stamps.
