A World War II-era novel that follows an American pilot’s romantic and action-filled adventures in wartime China. 251 pages, printed 1945 by Triangle Books, hardcover. 3) The Travels by Marco Polo. Recounts his journey to the eastern court of Kublai Khan and his travels in the service of the Khan from Beijing to northern India and the Persian Gulf. 285 pages, printed 1997, softcover. 4) The Rough Guide to China by Catharine Sanders, Chris Stewart and Rhonda Evans. 597 pages, bought in 1988. softcover. Lots of information about China. 5) The Long March, The Untold Story by Harrison Salisbury. Salisbury travelled 7,400 miles over the backroads of China, following almost every mile of the epic Red Army's march of 1934-1935. With photos. 419 pages, printed 1985, hardcover with dust jacket.
