&#34;recycled&#34; &#34;Fred Harvey Era&#34; jewelry 
(c. 1900-1955) silver sections.
• Characteristic techniques include

wave arrows, water elements, and half
moon designs. These stamps date

• This Cast Iron Dutch Oven does not
have a makers mark, so I believe it was
made in China.
• This enamelled cast iron Dutch ovens
are compatible with all cooktops,
including gas, electric, ceramic, and
induction, and are oven safe (often up to
500F or higher).
• The bumps on the inside of the cast
iron lid are a design feature for self-
basting. As food cooks, steam rises,
condenses on the cooler lid, and then
drips evenly from the spikes back onto
the food, rather than just running down
the sides of the pot.
• This Dutch Oven will hold 6 quarts
(approximately 5.7 liters) to 6.5 quarts.

• I have not been able to find any
biographical information about this wood
turner.
• This piece was produced
between 1952-1964: The organization
operated as a branch of the Canadian
Handicrafts Guild and later as the
Handicrafts Association (often referred to
as the &#34;The Guild of New Brunswick
Craftsmen.&#34; in this early transitional
period.
• In New Brunswick, Birdseye maple is
considered a &#34;rare gem&#34; of the forest,
highly prized for its unique, shimmering
appearance. It is not a separate species
of tree, but rather a rare growth anomaly
that occurs in roughly 1% of hard maple
trees (Acer saccharum).

Japanese Kasuri (Ikat) Indigo Dyed Shirt
• Vintage Japanese Kasuri (Ikat) indigo
dyed shirt, bought in Kyoto Japan in
1980&#39;s.
• The base material is hand spun cotton
hand knotted to create the pattern, and
then dyed with indigo grown on the
weavers property.
• This dyed fabric is specifically a style
known as Chiri-kasuri scattered ikat.
• The repeating diamond motif is likely
the Narihirabishi pattern, a traditional
&#34;wagara&#34; design over 1,300 years old
that symbolizes health and prosperity.
• This shirt does not have a tag, and
is more tightly woven then the more
modern versions, which indicates it was
most likely woven between 1960&#39;s or
1970&#39;s.
• This is not a commercially made shirt,
but rather hand sewn and tailored, and
even has a &#34;hanging loop&#34; on the back.

• Elly Shodell, director of the Port
Washington, New York library&#39;s Local
History Center, has received a 2011/12
Fulbright Specialist grant in the field of
library science.
• Elly is widely known as a historian, but
is also a potter. Her &#34;Dirt Light&#34; series
often featured functional, wheel-thrown
or mold formed stoneware with intricate,
hand-applied transfer illustrations, such
as vintage bicycle design.
• These pieces are produced in small
batches for local exhibitions.
• This piece is a white stoneware clay
body, fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln.
There is a cobalt oxide transfer design of
overlapping bicycles, and a heart inside.

Kinichi Shigeno - Two Yunomi
• Kinichi born in 1953 in Nagano, Japan.
• Kinichi Shigeno received extensive
training in Japan, and immigrated to
Canada in 1981.
• He brought with him his skills as cobalt
painter, and embellishes his fine pottery
with intricate designs. These on the
other hand are a much simpler in form
with sgraffito &#34;mountains, and a darker
blue &#34;water line&#34; design.
• He lives, teahes and works in
Richmond, and exhibits widely in Canada
and internationally in Japan, Italy, China,
USA and New Zealand.
• He has received recognition; the 2009
the BC Creative Achievement Award, a
Circle Craft Scholarship and a Canada
Council Travel Grant in 1997.
• These are hand thrown with porcelain,
and vary slightly in shape.

Mavis Mooney - Raku Fired Vase
• Mavis has been potting on Vancouver
Island in either North Saanich or Comox
for over seventy years.
• Her first instructors were the German
master potters Jan and Helga Grove.
•  She studied fine arts at the
Univ. of Victoria and later at North Island
College.
• In 1983, she worked with CUSO to
establishment a pottery in Zambia which
provided employment for that small
community.
• This vase is an interesting piece. It&#39;s
stoneware fired to cone 10 with a cream
white glaze on the interior, but the
exterior with it&#39;s sgraffito grooves was
fired in a separate &#34;pit kiln&#34; to create the
metallic raku type finish.
• Because of this proceed, the vase is
totally waterproof.

Victorian-Era C.F Monroe Wave Crest &#34;Opal Ware&#34; Ferner or Dresser Box
• The manufacturers were C.F. Monroe
Company, which operated from 1886 to
the early 1900&#39;s in Meriden, Connecticut.
• It is made of &#34;Opal Ware,
&#34; an opaline glass blank produced by other
companies (like the Mt. Washington
Glass Co.) and then purchased and
decorated by Monroe artists.
• The piece features a characteristic &#34;egg
crate&#34; or &#34;swirl&#34; molded shape with a
brass or ormolu rim around the top
opening. The decoration consists of
hand-painted red and brown fern fronds
and small white enamel &#34;jewel&#34; accents.
• This style is called a &#34;ferner&#34; or
&#34;jardinière,&#34; a low bowl designed to hold
a small potted fern for display.

• I have not been able to find out much
information about Lillian, although I
believe she lived up island in the
Courtnay Comox area.
• The teapot is made with an Iron rich
stoneware clay. The glaze is a semi-
matte &#34;oatmeal glaze&#34; on the inside, and
semi-matte light brown speckled glaze
on the exterior. Cone 10 gas fired.
• There&#39;s a clear signature on the bottom
of &#34;Lillian&#34;. Judging by the clay and the
glaze, I believe this piece was made in
the late 1970&#39;s or early 1980&#39;s.

Cobalt Blue Chantal Enamel-on-Steel Whistling Teakettle
• Chantal is a cookware co. founded by
<span class"bg-warning nswreasons" id"rid-125">German</span>-born engineer Heida Thurlow in
October 1971. Thurlow has the
distinction of being the first woman in the
U.S. to launch and run a cookware co.
• This 2018 design is called the "Vintage
Series" or "Classic Series"
• It is constructed from durable, high-
tensile carbon steel finished with a non-
reactive porcelain enamel interior and
exterior, designed to prevent rust and
resist calcium buildup.
• The kettle is a whistling model, typically
featuring a single-tone or "Hohner"
whistle when the water has reached a
rolling boil.
• The capacity is typically around 1.7 to
1.8 quarts (approx. 1.6 to 1.7 liters).

to the staining to highlight the various

&#34;Set of 10 Pieces&#34; Vintage Chinese Sgraffito Porcelain Plates, Bowls, and Sauce Bowls
• These bowls were made in Jingdezhen,
China, for the export market.
• Based on the various stamps on the
base of these pieces, they date around
the 1950&#39;s and 1960&#39;s also referred to as
&#34;Republic period&#34; or &#34;Early People&#39;s
Republic&#34; styles.
• These pieces are hand thrown
porcelain, not a mould. The diameter of
the rims vary, slight shape differences, as
well as the depth of the foot.
• This set was hand decorated and there
are individual differences in designs,
dragons, sizes and shapes of the
designs. Each is a &#34;unique&#34;
• They are decorated using a multi-step
process centered on the sgraffito (or
yazhao ‡Lit) technique, which involves
&#34;scratching&#34; through layers of colour to
reveal the material underneath.
• All in very good to excellent condition,

• Annie Morhauser was born in Camden,
New Jersey, in 1957, Morhauser moved
to California at age 16. She fell in love
with glassmaking after seeing an artisan

individual piece was made. Therefore, if it
is 1997, the piece you have is 28 years
old. The s after USA indicates that it was
purchased at our studio in Santa Cruz as
a &#34;second&#34; or &#34;on sale&#34; piece.

cracks. Note rounded corners on base,
possibly correcting chipped corners.
