• This is a Republic Era or Mid-20th
Century (c. 1940&#39;s-1970&#39;s): The style
continued to be produced extensively
during this time, often featuring stamped
marks, sometimes apocryphal (honorific)
reign marks of earlier emperors like the
Chenghua or Qianlong emperors, which
were made as a tribute rather than to
deceive.
• The mark is an apocryphal (tribute)
Chenghua seal mark. It is a black,
incised (carved into the clay) six-
character mark within a brown square.
This type of square, tightly-packed mark
is characteristic of the style often found
on Nanking ware of this era.
• &#34;Dao Ma Ren&#34; or &#34;Dao Ma Wun&#34; is a
Chinese artistic motif that translates
literally to &#34;figures with swords and
horses&#34; or &#34;warriors on horseback&#34;
• It refers to the general depiction of
