Lot #21: Vintage West German Qui-Heat Travel Iron — Chrome & Bakelite — Mid-Century — Working

Starting bidding

$1.00

Time Remaining:

Bidding starts in 0d 3h 35m

A beautifully preserved piece of mid-century European industrial design, this compact travel iron by Qui-Heat is made in Germany and presented in stunning polished chrome with a lustrous marbled Bakelite handle in deep black and grey. The braided cloth cord — dark burgundy/brown with white fleck detail — is period-correct and adds enormously to the visual appeal. The iron is fitted with a standard North American two-prong plug. The blue data plate reads: 220V / 750W / QUI-HEAT / Made in Germany — placing this firmly in the post-war West German manufacturing era, most likely the 1950s or early 1960s. The iron has been tested and confirmed working — a genuine rarity for a piece of this age. The chrome body retains excellent lustre with only minor age-appropriate marks. The Bakelite handle is intact with no cracks or chips. The braided cloth cord is original and in good condition. A stunning display piece or a surprisingly functional vintage iron — these are increasingly sought after by mid-century collectors and Bakelite enthusiasts alike. Pickup category timeslot {A}
