A stunning and remarkably well-preserved 4-piece vintage living room suite from the 1970s, upholstered throughout in a bold striped textured tweed in cream, brown, rust and amber tones — a fabric palette that is unmistakably and gloriously of its era. The set comprises a 3-seater sofa, two generously proportioned club chairs, and a matching rectangular ottoman, all in matching fabric and on their original Shepherd branded chrome ball casters. The silhouette is everything you want from 1970s upholstered furniture: scalloped multi-section backs, voluminous rolled arms, and deep comfortable seats. These pieces are built on a solid frame with substantial cushioning that has held its shape well over the decades. The seat cushions are removable and the underside lining appears clean and intact — a good indicator of how carefully this set has been maintained. Possibly made by Kroehler furniture or another brand consistent with quality North American furniture production of the mid-to-late 1970s. Condition: Remarkably good for age — fabric retains good colour and texture, no obvious tears or major staining visible. Some wear consistent with very light use. These "striped" sets have seen a massive resurgence in the "Vintage/Retro" market. If the foam is still firm and the fabric isn't "balding," they are highly sought after. Hardware: The Shepherd casters themselves are actually collectible! Original brass vintage sets often sell for 50–100 just for the hardware if someone is restoring another piece.
