Lot #32: Vintage Chrome Kitchen / Dining Chair — Perfect Chrome Furniture Co. Ltd., Toronto — Bold Green Floral Upholstery — c. 1960s–1970s

A wonderfully characterful vintage chrome chair by Perfect Chrome Furniture Co. Ltd. of Toronto, Ontario — a now-defunct but historically significant Canadian manufacturer whose label reads simply: "The Perfect Chrome — For Your Home." Custom made, with original label intact on the underside confirming Ontario registration, polyurethane foam and white cotton felt fill, and seat bottom manufacture by an associated Downsview, Ontario facility. The chair features a tubular chrome frame in classic 1960s–70s kitchen chair form, upholstered in a bold large-scale green and yellow floral fabric on a cream ground — a colour palette and print that is absolutely of the era and enormously appealing to vintage and retro interior enthusiasts. The upholstery is attached with chrome dome-head studs that add a polished finishing detail. The fabric retains strong colour with the bold print showing well. The chrome frame shows some age-appropriate marks but remains structurally sound. A piece of Toronto manufacturing history — Perfect Chrome Furniture was one of several Toronto-area companies producing chrome dinette furniture for the Canadian market during the postwar boom years, and surviving examples with intact original labels are increasingly difficult to find. Condition: Good vintage condition overall — chrome shows light wear, upholstery intact with no obvious tears. Original label complete and legible.
