Lot #38: Artist Print “Blue Nose Lunenberg” Nova Scotia by Huntley Brown – 133 of 500 Signed, Framed

Well known Canadian Artist and Illustrator, Huntley Brown (1932-2022), began his career as a commercial artist doing pieces for catalogs, magazines and newspapers, he even did a poster for the 1974 Canda Vs Russia Hockey Summit with drawings of each o the players, he designed postage stamps and a centennial coin, then in the early 1980’s he went to do teaching of art at the Ontario College of Art and Design. This wonderful print of the famous Blue Nose Schooner built in Lunenberg, Nova Scotia in 1921, it was a racing champion in the 1920’s and 1930’s. This wonderful print captures the ships beauty at rest in dock, professionally matted and framed in a tasteful frame, this numbered and signed print measures 18 inches by 22 inches. A wonderful piece from an important artist featuring a easily recognizable Canadian Sea Icon, with both maritime history of both racing and fishing, it stayed undefeated in 17 years of racing before being lost in 1946.
