Lot #49: Jaroslav Hovadik Artist Print “Portrait of a young woman” Signed, dated and a numbered limited edition – Excellent

Jaroslav Hovadik 1935 born in Czechoslovakia and grew up painting in the 1950’s which was primarily (in Europe) abstract expressionism with firm structures, with the former Soviet Bloc dictating what would and what would not be allowed. He emigrated to Canada and did a great deal of painting and drawing as well as a number of sculptures and some portraits. Using various materials and many bright and dark contrasting colors featuring figures but mixed with abstract patterns and designs. This print is tastefully framed and is signed, dated 67 and is of a numbered limited addition run (8 / 50). Very nice piece to complement any interior.
