Bronze-finished figurine commemorates Ishikawa Takuboku (1886–1912), one of Japan’s most beloved Meiji-era poets and master of the tanka (short poem). The statue depicts the poet in a signature pensive pose, reflecting the themes of nostalgia and solitude central to his work. Ishikawa Takuboku, renowned for his poetry collections Ichiaku no Suna (A Handful of Sand) and Gangu (Sad Toys). A miniature replica of a memorial statue. The poet is shown in traditional dress, seated with his hand to his chin in deep thought. The upper plaque features his name in Japanese kanji (石川啄木). The lower plaque likely contains one of his famous poems or a biographical inscription.
