The movement is driven by an AA Battery and runs perfectly on time. This clock dates from the 1980s, when there was a lot of experimenting going on with quartz movement and their capabilities. This "clock" precisely reproduces the daily evolution of the moon phases during its 29,5 day cycle. The Galilea Moonphase clock captures the moon's many phases. A matte shield revolves around a detailed globe of the moon, showing which portion of the moon is currently in shadow. It shows you a 29.5 Moon month on the dish, right under the moon and there is even a calendar with month and months date, behind a see through window, on a moving dish, on the base, right underneath the hands, showing you the time.
