Lot #12: Two Rare Carole Taylor “Raggs Dolls”

This lot is a pair of rare, handmade bunny dolls by Carole Taylor, Hixton, Tennessee. In the late 80s, Mrs. Taylor decided to start a business in her small village of Hixton using her sewing circle. They started hand made cloth dolls using their sewing scraps. As a result, each Raggs doll is unique. These two bunny dolls are great examples of her work. One is holding carrots and the other has a strand of dried leaves. Yes, someone collected dried leaves and hand strung them! After finishing the doll bodies, they were soaked in tea to antique them. Each doll is about 22 inches tall. The original cost 35 years ago, was 38. Dimensions: 22 inches tall Pickup category timeslot {A}
