Lot #90: Inlaid Trinket Box/Tea Caddy (with Portrait) & Framed Portrait

Antique box, likely a 19th-century tea caddy, featuring an intricate decorative style. Constructed using a harlequin pattern of tortoiseshell and mother-of-pearl, which was common in English caddies from the late 18th to early 19th centuries. The lid is adorned with a portrait miniature, a small, highly detailed painting typically executed in watercolor or gouache, which was often fitted into such boxes. A few pieces have fallen off, some of which were inside the box. this piece measures 5 inches wide 4 inches deep and 3 inches tall.  Second items appears to be an antique 19th-century miniature portrait of a lady, potentially Queen Louise of Prussia, set within a frame. Can’t tell the material, it is quite light. Note the oval brass surrounding the portrait. Also note the chip in the bottom left quadrant. The back is adorned with some French paper.
